Painting Stages

This approach is particularly useful for watercolour painting, where planning the order of washes and layers is essential. Instead of guessing what to paint first, the stages provide a visual guide to the build-up of the painting.

You can adjust the number of stages to suit your working method. For example, choosing three stages produces a simplified plan focused on major shapes and values, while selecting six stages creates a more gradual, layered breakdown.

Each stage is shown as a separate image, allowing you to clearly see what information belongs at that point in the process. This helps prevent common problems such as overworking early layers or adding detail too soon.
