ABOUT
See and isolate the colours in your reference image more clearly.
A practical way to identify colours that are hard to see in photo references.
The Colour Finder helps you analyse and isolate colour information from a reference image. Photo references often compress or disguise colour relationships, making it difficult to clearly identify what’s actually present.
When an image is loaded, the tool first presents a set of colour swatches drawn from the reference, giving you an immediate overview of the dominant colours in the image.
You can then explore specific colour characteristics. With a single click, the tool can display up to ten of the most warm, cool, neutral, light, dark, or saturated colours present in the reference.
For finer control, you can click directly on areas of the image to select colours manually. Up to twenty-four colours can be collected at once, allowing you to isolate subtle shifts or variations that matter to your painting. Colours can be removed at any time to refine the selection.
The tool is designed to support observation rather than replace it — helping you see colour relationships more clearly so your painting decisions are informed and intentional.
